Dinner for Cancer Research Raises Over $150,000 for

Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Center

Boston, MA, October 27, 2009 - Golfers Against Cancer (GAC), an organization founded in 1997 by members of the Deerwood Club in Kingwood, Texas to show support for some of its club members who had been diagnosed with cancer, held its annual dinner for cancer research in Boston, MA on October 7, 2009.  Nearly 170 guests attended the dinner that was held at the Four Seasons Hotel Boston - the goal - to raise money for cancer research.

For the past twelve years, dinners have been held in Houston, New York City, Atlanta and Greensboro. GAC has raised over $18 million dollars since its inception for cancer research. This is the fourth year a dinner was held in Boston, MA.

"The proceeds from this event will benefit cancer research efforts directed by Dr. Paul E. Goss at Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Center", said Robert W. Howe, Chairman of ADS. "ADS is privileged to be a partner in contributing to the goal of providing the funds necessary to continue research to determine the optimal targets for new cancer treatments," added Howe.

"We are very pleased with the proceeds that were raised during the event, and especially, for the continued support we have received over the past four years," said Lee Kennedy, Chairman of Lee Kennedy Co. Inc. We were also delighted to have Susan Wornick from WCVB-TV join us this year as Master of Ceremonies,” concluded Kennedy.

The Boston Chapter of Golfers Against Cancer held its first dinner for cancer research in 2006. The dinner, hosted by Bob Howe, Chairman of A D S Financial Services Solutions and Lee Kennedy, Chairman of Lee Kennedy Company, has proven to be a very successful and worthwhile event.
