Administaff Name GAC as Beneficiary

Administaff Returns The Senior Tour To Houston Naming Golfers Against Cancer As a Beneficiary

Press Release, May 12, 2004

Kingwood-based Administaff announced on April 14th that it would sponsor a Houston Champions Tour event to be called the Administaff Small Business Classic™. The tournament will be held at the Augusta Pines Golf Club on October 4-10, 2004.

Most exciting to our organization is that Golfers Against Cancer has been named as one of three beneficiaries of the tournament. Cancer research is the real winner because one of the other beneficiaries is The George and Barbara Bush Foundation for Innovative Cancer Research at M. D. Anderson. These two cancer research initiatives are joined by The First Tee Program, which spreads golf to young people who might never have the opportunity to swing otherwise.

Board members Bob Young, Bill Clarey and John Dewberry represented GAC at the press announcement on April 14th. Also in attendance were Fuzzy Zoeller and John Mahaffey - who was one of the key organizers of the return of the senior tour to Houston. As a beneficiary, GAC will receive a number of tickets to the event and will be able to market those tickets with all the proceeds benefiting our organization. Administaff has supported GAC as a company as well as through its associates' involvement since our founding in 1997. We are honored that they have chosen to recognize our all-volunteer efforts.

"We are very pleased to be selected as a beneficiary of the Administaff Small Business Classic™. The proceeds, which go to GAC will be directly invested in cancer research projects as we search for a cure to help our families and friends", stated Sally Roberts, GAC beneficiary chairperson.

GAC was started in 1997 by a group of friends wanting to support Sally's husband, Dave Roberts, as he battled with his third cancer, as well as Mike Longpré, a professional golfer at Deerwood Club. Though both of these inspirations for this effort have passed away - Roberts in 1998 and Longpré last year - their friends continue to raise funds to save lives in their honor.

Since its founding, GAC has raised almost $6 million - including matching funds. This is unprecedented for an all-volunteer organization.
