Golfers Against Cancer and the Dinners for Cancer Research raises funds for innovative cancer research through a number of events on an annual basis. As an all-volunteer organization, GAC & DCR enjoys fantastic support from its volunteers and sponsors. Doing good is fun! And contagious! Join in the cure. Houston Golf Tournament & Gala GAC's first event in 1997 started as a golf tournament and gala dinner. This event is now one of the largest in the country, taking place on 5 golf courses simultaneously every year on the Monday before Thanksgiving (enter that date on your calendar!). LPGA and Texas PGA golfers participate in a pro event & add to the enjoyment by all. A separate tournament is held on the Sunday before Thanksgiving to recognize the major sponsors. Dinners for Cancer Research Dinners for Cancer Research take place each year in cities across America. Since the dinner costs are paid for by GAC "angels", and auction items are donated, all proceeds from attendance and money raised from the auction is channeled to local cancer research.
