Continental Airlines Continental Airlines joined GAC in 1999. Our ability to raise so much money for cancer research is a direct result of their commitment and involvement. The support of Continental Airlines comes through in so many ways including the support of so many LPGA pros, the Continental BBQ team, the Continental Balloon team and having the Continental Airlines hangar serve as our intimate dining room in 2004 and will again be our venue in 2005. The GAC auctions would not be possible without Continental’s support of trips around the globe, including their unique BusinessFirst service. To our partner who “works hard and flies right” - a huge thank you for all you’ve done for GAC and our ability to generate funds for cancer research.
Our Continental partnership is from the top, Chairman and CEO Larry Kellner has been a constant support. Continental executive Dave Hilfman has been the GAC man of the year. Ken Manzo of Continental is our constant partner and liasion. You all are the BEST!
BMW BMW has been involved with GAC since our early years. And the support of BMW has expanded as we have grown. The Houston BMW Group, led by Pete DeLongchamps, Joe Irpino and Brad Craig have contributed a brand new BMW annually to be either auctioned or raffled to the Houston participants.
As GAC has grown, the BMW relationship has expanded as well. BMW Marketing Vice President, Hank Schoeler, was the founder of the Atlanta Dinner for Cancer Research - joining with John Ray of Heritage Capital and Seth Ryan to shepard the Atlanta events. Hank was named Person of the Year for GAC in 2004 – an honor he shares with Former President George H.W. Bush. We are proud to be associated with such a wonderful company and such great products and great people.
Outback Steakhouse GAC has been associated with Outback Steakhouse since the beginning. In our founding year in 1997, Johnny Carrabba of "Carrabba's" now owned by Outback - started what has been an annual tradition - the cookout for all the Monday golfers in Houston. And what started as an intimate dinner for 100 golfers has now grown to feed almost 1,000 through the support of Outback Steakhouse. The Outback staff contributes their time for the cause and the Outback leadership, including Allen Riley who is now with Fleming’s Steakhouse, have been overall leaders within GAC – not just sponsors. Our Outback dinner host is Stephen Clay Long and we salute you and your team!
